Zam
A journey of Chaos and Color

Zam Sonnenfeld, has been working with glass since 2013. Getting her roots in the Pacific Northwest functional art movement, she specializes in flameworking but has come to love many approaches to glasswork throughout her career.
Working for John Barber Glass Designs gave her a foundation in the hot shop that expanded when she attended grad school at Rochester Institute of Technology in 2021. It was there that she was able to explore fusing, coldworking, and other specialized techniques more thoroughly.

Here, she officially began her teaching journey at RIT and Studio 34 Artists. She then continued on to be a part of the Salem Community College teaching staff and studio tech team. In addition to teaching at Wheaton Arts and Carlisle Machine Works.
Currently, she is the Studio Manager at Glass Art Kalamazoo, where she manages, teaches, and demonstrates all things glass; in addition to pursuing her own vision within her body of work.

Zam sees her journey as just beginning, and looks forward to exploring and sharing the magic of glass with people for many years to come.
